Today, Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner was among the first products awarded the Green Good Housekeeping Seal (GGHS), an environmental extension of the primary Good Housekeeping Seal. In order to be considered for GGHS, a product must first meet the requirements for the Good Housekeeping Seal, and then is further evaluated against select environmental criteria, including:
- Reduction of water use in manufacturing
- Energy efficiency in manufacturing and product use
- Ingredient and product safety
- Packaging reduction
- Brand corporate social responsibility
In the official press release, Rosemary Ellis, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping, said the Seal offers “consumers a guide, backed by scientific research, for products making significant steps toward being environmentally sound.”
